Board of Commissioners - Leadership Transitions

Board of Commissioners Meeting Highlights Leadership Transitions

The Town of Coats marked an important moment of leadership transition during last night’s Board of Commissioners meeting, recognizing years of service while welcoming the next chapter of town governance.

The Board and community extended sincere appreciation to Jerry Beasley for his 16 years of dedicated service as a commissioner. His commitment, leadership, and contributions have played a meaningful role in shaping the Town of Coats, and his service is gratefully acknowledged.

Following this recognition, the Board re-instated several returning officials. Chris Coats was re-instated as Mayor, along with Monique Warren-Clegg and Shirley Allen as Commissioners. Their continued service provides stability and experience as the town moves forward.

The Board also welcomed Todd Pope as a new commissioner, bringing fresh perspective and enthusiasm to local leadership.

Additionally, Commissioner Kelvin Gilbert was selected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. In this role, he will assist the Mayor and preside over Board meetings in the Mayor’s absence, helping ensure continuity in leadership and the effective operation of town business.

The Town of Coats looks forward to the continued leadership and collaboration of the Board of Commissioners as they work together to serve the community and support the town’s future growth.
