❄️Winter Storm Update & Town Operations Notice ❄️
The Town of Coats is urging residents to take this weekend’s winter storm seriously and make plans early. Some power outages are possible, so please be sure you have adequate food, supplies, and medications on hand.
🚗 Road Conditions & Public Works Response
• Public Works crews are able to provide limited snow plowing due to staffing and resources.
• If needed, NCDOT will clear McKinley Street and Stewart Street.
• The Town will focus efforts on Main Street and other primary roads.
• Residential streets will not be plowed.
• Salt will be applied on Main Street beginning Friday afternoon and will continue until supplies run out.
• Residents are strongly encouraged to stay home and avoid travel on icy roads.
🏛 Town Hall Operations
• Town Hall will likely be closed Monday, January 26, unless conditions improve sooner.
• The Town will continue to monitor guidance from Harnett County regarding closures.
💧 Water Service Notice
• No water service will be cut off on Monday, January 26.
• Any previously scheduled water cutoffs will be postponed until Town Hall reopens.
• If you have a delinquent water bill, please pay online or visit Town Hall today or tomorrow. Please do not take unnecessary risks traveling over the weekend or Monday to drop off payments.

⚠️NEW Winter Storm Updates – Town of Coats ⚠️
Following the lead of the state and county, the Town of Coats has declared a State of Emergency in advance of the storm. We encourage residents to continue preparing now and to use extra caution as conditions worsen.
🗑️ Trash & Recycling – Carolina Trash Update:
Due to incoming inclement weather, trash and recycling service may be delayed. Please place your containers at the road as you normally would on your scheduled service day. As soon as road conditions are safe for their trucks to operate, they will complete service. Please leave containers at the road until service has been completed, even if service is delayed by a day or more.
All service updates will begin Sunday evening, pending available power. Please check for emails from Carolina Trash, their social media, or call their office at 919-980-1448 for updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding as they prioritize the safety of their drivers and their customers.

Customers who experience an outage can report it using any of the following methods:

• View their interactive outage map for real-time updates and estimated restoration times
