Town Clerk / Human Resources Administrator

The Town Clerk / Human Resources Administrator serves as a central point of contact for many administrative functions of the Town of Coats and supports the Mayor, Town Board of Commissioners, Town Manager, and Town departments.

The Town Clerk is responsible for maintaining official Town records and documents, coordinating Town Board meetings and agendas, preparing and maintaining minutes and other official records, and assisting with public records requests in accordance with North Carolina public records law.

The Town Clerk's Office also provides administrative support for Town elections and appointments, official notices, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other municipal records and documents. The Clerk works with Town departments and the public to help ensure that Town records are properly maintained and accessible as required by law.

As Human Resources Administrator, the position is responsible for coordinating the Town's human resources functions, including personnel records, employee onboarding and separation, benefits administration, leave administration, personnel policies, recruitment and hiring processes, required employee documentation, and other employment-related administrative matters.

The Town Clerk / Human Resources Administrator also serves as a liaison between employees, Town administration, and other departments on personnel and administrative matters.
